Years ago I read a book that has stayed with me since I was in my very early 20's. It was a fabulous historical romance and I have read it many times since then. Yes, I know how it ends but I still enjoy it. When I first read the title, these were the images brought to mind... a beautiful snow encrusted valley surrounded by woods with a single red rose poking through the snow - bringing happiness and hope for the future. I know, I am a romantic at heart.
